The plain-language rules for using this site.
Last updated October 12, 2026
Every result on BenefitMath is an estimate based on published rules and the numbers you enter. Only the agency that runs a program can decide whether you qualify and how much you receive. Agencies consider details a calculator can't, such as verified documents and exactly when income arrives. If an estimate says you don't qualify, you can still apply.
The site explains how rules work. It is not legal advice, tax advice or financial advice, and it doesn't create any professional relationship. For decisions with real consequences, like when to claim Social Security or how to file a tax return, check with the agency or a qualified professional. Free tax help is available through the IRS VITA program.
BenefitMath is an independent site operated by X Ventures LLC. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking for the Social Security Administration, VA, IRS, USDA, HUD, or any Oregon or Washington agency. Program names are used only to describe what each calculator estimates.
We work to keep every figure correct and dated, and each calculator links to its sources. Rules change, and mistakes can happen. The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, and BenefitMath isn't responsible for decisions made based on its results. If something looks wrong, please tell us. Corrections are logged on What changed.
You're welcome to use the calculators for yourself, your family, or the people you help at work. Please don't copy the site's code or content to republish it as your own, or use automated tools to overload it.
The site is free because it shows ads. Ads are chosen by advertising partners, not by BenefitMath, and showing an ad isn't an endorsement. Links to other sites are provided for convenience; those sites have their own terms. See the privacy policy for how ads use cookies.
If these terms change, the date at the top will be updated. Questions? Contact us.
